a lot of people hear things like logging off when someone enters local and decide thats not the type of antisocial gaming they want. empire people are told a story that paints 0.0 as a horribly lonely and grief filled place to live
its doesnt help that when they go there big zergs of alliance eat them
and what do they find there if they dont get swarmed by imperial dictatorship alliances? empty space, no place to call home. no place to buy ammo. no place to refit. not enough npc stations and player stations are closed off. even ISS stations or whatever they are called are actually kill on sight closed off even though they claim to build stations for everyone to use
no place to dock and a long trip to empire through gate camps, for people who dont want to spend all their time on EVE, hours IRL making jumps is boring and time consuming, though has gotten better with warp to 0, still doesnt excuse jumping way out to play and way back, could spend half your time jumping
other downsides, you can never go AFK, you always have to be paranoid because alliances look for that 1 person in some empty space they dont use to pick on
im not complaining, but for people who are always in 0.0 and in alliances, you probably dont understand what it looks like and is like from the other side. it comes down to this, if you want to question empire people then let me ask you, will your alliance single handedly accept all of them into your alliance and give them the freedom to play in your space without restricting their gameplay to make it not fun? if so, go around offering this and you will get lots of empire people in 0.0 for at least half their time.
but if its like a dictatorship they wont join and wont go to 0.0 because most people play the game to have fun not be treated like peon dirt by an alliance leader with mental issues (like BOB's enemy alliance leader who was literally screaming at his alliance peons and insulting them)
this is some of why most of the playerbase plays in empire. if youre getting angry after reading this and want to flame, so sorry, its only the truth. for the OP, ask yourself what your alliance does to people who mine in "your space" and you have an answer why the miner is in high sec
